Your Hosts

In 1997, when Gretchen and I started building Roddy Tree, our goal was to have a family resort that would be shared year after year by multi generations. We dreamt of our guests returning, bringing new members of their families to make their own memories here on the banks of the Guadalupe that would last a lifetime. We wanted Roddy Tree Ranch to be a family tradition. Twenty three years later we have realized our dream, thanks to many loyal Roddy Tree Ranch families that have indeed returned year after year.

For me, the Hill Country has always been a Family Vacation Tradition. Starting in the 1930's, my grandparents, Allie, and Rhea Roddy, and my mother, Helen, spent summers, holidays, and weekends here on the Guadalupe. As I was growing up, my own family came here for the summer and every chance we got. Rhea and Allie had a place down the road everybody called the Roddy Tree where we welcomed family and friends. Today, in honor of two wonderful people who first introduced us to a tradition of hospitality and love for the Texas Hill Country, my parents and Keith and I continue this love affair at Roddy Tree Ranch.
